Contestants must attach a copy of the SWIFT of the banking operation certifying the payment.

Note:
* In the event of not taking part in the contest or of not being present at the master classes, there will be
no refund of money.
* The participants will assume personally the expenses of transport, housing and nourishment during their
permanency in the Contest and all those expenses inherent in their stay in Colombia.

The inscription will be done by means of written request (attached format signed) sent by
certified post, attaching requested documentation.

Steps:

• Fill out inscription form in all its parts and with legible letter.
• Present a brief curriculum vitae and two photographs 3 x 4 cm.
• Attach the repertoire proposed by the contest.
• Annex original consignation of the inscription payment. It is recommended to preserve a
  copy of the consignation receipt to be presented the first day of the Contest.
• Language: Spanish for spanish-speaking aspirants and in English for aspirants of other
  countries.

The deadline to present the request of inscription is Monday, the 15th of March, 2010 at 5 p.m.
It is recommended to all the aspirants who live outside of Bogota to bear in mind the time of
the sending of the documentation by certified post.

Only the inscriptions that fulfill all the requirements indicated in the bases of this contest, will
be accepted. The documentation will not be returned.

An e-mail answer will be sent to every aspirant informing him if the request was accepted or
not.

Prizes may go unawarded for lack of sufficient merit
Fiscal retention fixed by law will be applied to all the prizes.

1. The Contest is divided into three phases, all with performance open to the public in front of
   a Jury. Once the audition is started, the entrance of the public to the hall will not be allowed.
   The public will be allowed to exit the hall in absolute silence, only after the contestant´s
   performance is finished.
2. The order of performance of the contestants in front of the Jury will be decided by drawing
   realized (in presence of the Jury), on Monday, the 10th of May, 2010 at 9 a.m. Auditorio of
   Centro de Convenciones at Compensar/ Avenida 68 No. 49 A -47 ground floor.
3. If there is an absence of a member of the Jury for reasons of force majeure, the authorization
   and the endorsement of this drawing will be given by the artistic director of the V
   INTERNATIONAL CONTEST FOR YOUNG GUITARISTS in the frame of the VII ENCUENTRO
   INTERNACIONAL DE GUITARRA, COMPENSAR, 2010 or whoever is designated in
   his absence by the Directives of COMPENSAR.
4. All the pieces must be performed from memory.
5. The first Phase is the elimination round and it will take place on Monday, the 10th of May,
   between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at Auditorio del Centro de Convenciones de Compensar
   / Av 68 No 49 A – 47 ground floor. If needed, the Jury will continue on the following day,
   moving then to Phase 2, after having finished Phase 1.
6. The Second Phase - Semifinal - will take place on Tuesday, the 11th and Wednesday, the
   12th of May between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.; the participants of this phase will be those
   on the list of selected by the Jury in the first phase. Auditorio del Centro de Convenciones
   de Compensar / Av 68 No 49 A – 47 ground floor.
7. Up to four (4) selected contestants will paticipate in the Third Phase - Final -, which will be
   realized on Thursday, the 13th of May at 7:00 p.m. at Auditorio del Centro de Convenciones
   de Compensar / Av 68 No 49 A – 47 ground floor.
8. The Jury will communicate the names of the competitors selected in Phase 1 and Phase 2
   by means of the web page of the Contest and the bulletin boards at the information area of
   the music hall where the Contest is carried out.
9. The decisions of the Jury are unappealable.
10. Any situation not foreseen in the bases of the Contest will be solved by the Members of the
    Jury.
11. The inscription to the Contest implies the full acceptance of these bases. Any disrespectful
    behaviour on the part of participants within the sphere of the competition shall imply expulsion
    and the loss of all rights acquired thus far.
12. The organisation reserves the right to amend the Competitions Rules. The text drafted in
    Spanish shall be deemed to be the official text for the purpose of resolving any doubts
    arising in connection with these rules.
